The latest models by French modeler Ilario are a true tour de force. Just released is his second subject in 1:18 plus a masterpiece in 1:43 that was the king of the 1931 jungle.
Don’t find yourself empty-handed if Ilario limited editions hit their limit…
Ilario decided to expand his model-making magic to 1:18 last year with the 1949 Delahaye 175 S. The cautious edition size is on the way to selling out. Now he has chosen another subject from his 1:43 oeuvre to cast into 1:18. The new issues include three variants of the 1936 Bugatti 57S Atlantic. That includes the original Bugatti Atlantic.

Ilario has now offered the three variants of the eventful provenance of sn57473 in both scales. The variants include the original and to which the car has been most recently restored plus two historic restorations in between.
In 1:43, Ilario has issued the Cadillac 452 V16 Roadster that was showcased at the 2005 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance during the celebration of Pininfarina’s 75th anniversary. Of the 750 Cadillac V16s sold in 1931, only one had coachwork from the newly created Carrozzeria Pinin Farina.

It was ordered by the Indian Maharaja of Orchha who had a penchant for hunting tigers in his nearby jungles. This may explain – in addition to the mountainous engine that could deliver 100 mph – why the bustle seat was elevated so he could hover over his intended striped victims. And why it is boat-tailed.
Also just released in 1:43 scale is the Delahaye 175 S Cabriolet that its coachbuilder *Chapron* affectionately dubbed *The Dandy*.
