May 28-30, downtown Detroit will host the first AutoMoto *Detroit* International Film & Arts Festival. It’s a festival of feature-length films and documentaries focused on cars… plus appearances by automotive celebrities and designers.
The AutoMoto *Detroit* International Film & Arts Festival is an extension of a similar event in Monterey, California during every Concours week in August.
We’re looking forward to these screenings:
- Cuban street racing documentary “Havana Motor Club”
- “1” the golden age of Formula 1, when the sport became terrifyingly dangerous and drivers were like rock stars with charisma and raw talent
- “Going Attractions” – definitive story about American Drive-ins
… and more. The festival is being run during the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix. The race will feature the cars of the Verizon IndyCar Series, the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship and other competitions.
You can buy TICKETS on their website.
Legendary Car Guy thinks this is going to be fun. No plans for him to travel from California to go there, but from any of the Great Lakes states, well worth the trip. Prediction: you run into lots of interesting personalities. Like Magnus Walker.
