2016 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance Official Poster by Ken Eberts
Ken presents the three Ford GT40s that dominated the podium in the 1966 Le Mans, in front the Pebble Beach Lodge. Who are the three guys mulling behind the cars? Carroll Shelby is there, of course, and so is Henry Ford II , whose rivalry with Enzo Ferrari fueled this legendary showdown. Edsel Ford II is the third figure, because his father Henry had invited the then 13 year-old to the pivotal Le Mans race of the century. And it is from Edsel’s vivid memories of that race that inspiration for this artwork was drawn.
The original hangs in Edsel Ford’s office.
